Our Sale Policy
(Official Sale Policy)
SALE POLICY AND SHIPPING TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
This is a policy of terms we have developed over several years and All rabbit sales are strictly held to the following sales policy. We are not a business, we are purely rabbit fancy hobbyist's. We do however take pride in providing rabbits that uphold to the ARBA Standard of Perfection as closely as possible, impeccable health and amiable temperaments. As responsible breeders, we keep our kits for a minimum of 8 weeks and may keep our kits up to 10 weeks or longer if we want to further evaluate their quality and/or feel they are not ready for traveling. This gives us a chance to see how well they are eating on their own and how they are going to mature for show and/or breeding quality. Please note the price of our junior rabbits may increase as they develop into show or breeding quality.
We keep our bunnies healthy with regular worming and proper care. We evaluate our show bunnies for potential disqualifications but ultimately it is your responsibility to inspect them for proper qualifications and evaluate them for show quality, etc. prior to acceptance or submission of any deposits, payments or finalizing any sales. Nor can we guarantee the sex/gender of any young rabbit. Although in our experience mistakes are rarely made, it is not impossible with an animal so small and young. (i.e.) to err is human.

We cannot guarantee fertility of the bunnies. That is totally up to nature.
We cannot guarantee a winner. No matter what, it is ultimately up to the judge to decide. Just remember, one persons opinion does not make the bunny a winner or loser!! Showing your bunny at several shows will better evaluate them for true quality. What truly matters is what "YOU" think of your bunny and having a good understanding of the ARBA Standard of Perfection.
Our rabbits are offered for sale to people in the order in which we receive a serious inquiry. This means that you will need to indicate an interest to purchase or we will inform the next inquirer that they may proceed. Sierra, Kristi Getschman and/or Sierra's Rabbitry, it's affiliates and/or any associated Rabbitries, etc (herein and hereinafter referred to as "Seller") hereby reserve the right to refuse a sale for any reason deemed necessary and to revoke an agreement of sale at any point of time in its sole and absolute discretion and without the need to provide reasons for such revocation. We have the right to cancel a sale at anytime until the rabbit has been picked up and is officially sold.
All rabbits will be sold at the prices listed on the website or quoted via email sent from "Seller" official Email account only. Please note that discounts may be available at our sole discretion for 4H members (project verification will be required for 4H discount) OR for purchasing three or more rabbits, depending on the rabbits being sold. Top show quality rabbits with excellent genetics or traits in high demand will most likely not be reduced in price. Rabbits listed as show quality are typically proven on the show table and/or are believed to be of show quality and free from disqualifications. Although every attempt will be made to ensure show rabbits are free from disqualifications at the time of sale, "Seller" is not responsible for undiscovered disqualifications that may appear, or be acquired, after a rabbit is sold. Additionally, we do not guarantee a sale rabbit’s breeding or show success. For these reasons, we strongly encourage buyers to personally evaluate their rabbit(s) and research genetic compatibility prior to purchase. Once the deposit is received, you will have an opportunity to look over the rabbit in person if possible, before paying for the rabbit in full. In the event that the distance of your location prohibits you to view the rabbit in person, photo's will be provided for your evaluation and acceptance of the purchase. Any purchase via photo's will be considered as acceptance of the purchase and sale of any rabbit in which a deposit has been received. You will have the option of having the rabbit inspected by another party such as a local veterinarian at your sole discretion or waiving that option on our acceptance form below - the expense of any and all said inspection or health certificate will be the full responsibility of "Buyer/Purchaser" of said rabbit or rabbits. If for some reason a rabbit(s) are not deemed as advertised (ex.we discover a white toenail, etc) or we discover an oversight of an undiscovered disqualification prior to rabbit(s) departure and/or finalizing a sale and upon notification of said oversight you as buyer decide against purchasing said rabbit, a full refund of the deposit will be considered and "may" be given at "Seller" sole discretion.
In order to place a sale rabbit “on hold” for pick-up at an upcoming local show that we plan to attend, a 50% non-refundable deposit will be required within 24 hours after informing us of your intent to purchase. If you have made the deposit and later decide against the rabbit, the deposit will be subject to forfeit. All rabbits must be paid for in full and picked up within two weeks unless prior agreements have been made. Similarly, in order to hold rabbits for duration's longer than two weeks and/or those in need of out-of-state transportation, full payment MUST be received within one week after placing a hold deposit and informing us of your intent to purchase. In addition, a fee may apply for holding rabbits for long durations so please inquire. If payment is not received within the given time frames above, we will proceed accordingly as to our policy and inform the next inquirer that they may proceed. Please note that once full payment is received for a sale rabbit(s), all sales will be considered final and the rabbit will be considered sold and marked on our website as such (if applicable), at which time rabbit is buyers responsibility and seller is no longer liable.
All rabbits are sold with transition food and their three generation pedigree! If it is applicable, it will also include ARBA registration, ARBA Grand Champion Certification, and show legs, ONLY if applicable at time of sale. Registrations and Grand Championship after SOLD status is responsibility of the buyer.
Occasionally (but very rarely) pets are available, but they are not sold with pedigrees nor verbal or written disclosure of lineage. Additionally, pet home references will be required and all pet sale transactions are at our sole discretion. Must be 18 or older to purchase our rabbits. Otherwise must be accompanied and represented by an adult/guardian to officiate our agreement.
Deposit
Deposit for half the amount of the rabbit(s) is required to hold any of our bunnies. We will not hold animals without a deposit, no exceptions. A 50% deposit is required within 24 hours to hold any animal unless it is specifically stated first come first served on their sales ad on our FB or website. The 50% deposit is a non-refundable deposit. I prefer pickup of all sale rabbits within 48 hours but I will not keep a rabbit longer than 14 days unless prior arrangements have been made and approved PRIOR by seller for boarding, fees, care, release of liability, etc. Some exceptions may apply but ONLY by written agreement signed and agreed upon between both seller and the buyer. Transport plans are 100% buyer responsibility as well as cost AND must be confirmed/agreed upon before we will accept a deposit. A separate charge for maintenance and handling is required should pickup/delivery be scheduled in excess of 7 days. (For babies that have a deposit hold or sale prior to weaning, the 7 days would start at 8 weeks of age & thereafter)
Right to Cancel
Sales are on a first come, first served basis unless otherwise noted that we are accepting wait lists for that particular animal. Preference will be given to buyers who can pickup within 48 hours. We do not keep a waiting list on our sale rabbits without a deposit. If a deposit is placed on a litter that is too young to travel or even (which is rare) still in utero, the deposit may reflect up to 50% of the price of a show prospect until further evaluations can be made on the litter for a final purchase price. In no way will the amount or acceptance of a deposit on a baby bunny from an unborn litter or a weanling kit (under 8 weeks of age) in ANY WAY imply the final cost of a rabbit. Evaluations still would need to be completed. We reserve the right to cancel a sale prior to its completion at any time for any reason.
Shipping
Shipping may be available by ground transport and may be available on a limited basis (by air, inquire first please) ), solely at our discretion. There is a minimum purchase requirement before we will consider to ship rabbits by air. Buyer pays for any costs associated with shipping, including but not limited to ground transport, vet inspection and care... (if applicable) airline fees, vet check, carrier costs, etc. Final payments on shipment costs are due one week before ship date. It is buyers responsibility to inform seller in advance if the rabbit requires shipping AND an expected date of departure as well as EXACT ETA (expected date and TIME of arrival as well as a meeting location!) NO EXCEPTIONS.
All shipping costs will be at buyers expense and will include (but is not limited to) our travel cost if more than 20 miles from us for ANY transport, ground, air etc. We reserve the right to refuse to ship by air, we also reserve the right to refuse to hold a sale rabbit for more than 48 hours while awaiting pickup or pre-arranged transportation however if transport/shipping has been arranged between buyer and seller prior to a sale, buyer MUST have an agreement in writing from seller prior to purchase and ALL arrangements to ship the rabbit MUST be made prior to any sale, no exceptions. Transporters names, phone #, etc being used as well as ETA's for pickup from us and an exact location to meet the transport are required no later than 48 hours notice!! NO EXCEPTIONS!
We do not guarantee shipping nor shipping availability therefore shipping will be solely at seller discretion, if available. Most airlines have climate control requirements for shipping live animals. However, if you are close enough and we or someone we know will be attending a show, we MAY BE ABLE TO ARRANGE TO HAVE A RABBIT TRANSPORTED TO A SHOW. These transport costs will also be solely at Buyer expense. We do often travel to Great Falls, Helena, Idaho, and Western Washington areas and can possibly (NOT GUARANTEED, so please inquire)deliver to these areas or most places along the way ONLY IF WE ARE GOING to said location for a show.
Delivery arrangements can also be made to the shows we attend by a 3rd party transporter and/or rabbits can be picked up at location meeting spot by appointment only. If we are already traveling to the destination we rarely (if ever) charge for transporting a bunny purchased from us since we are already in route to that destination as long as arrangements are made to take possession of your new rabbit(s) prior to start of show. However we do not guarantee that we will be attending or traveling to ANY said shows/destinations; therefore it is Buyers responsibility to arrange shipping of said rabbit(s) in the event we are unable to attend. Examples of times charges would apply to locations we are in route to are if it is a Natl Convention due to added time of care etc.
We make every effort to have the rabbit shipped with the least stress possible (when available) which is the reason we have reserved the right to ship to be solely at our discretion.
Buyer must get approval from "Seller" regarding length of time "Seller" will need to hold, board and care for any sale rabbit(s) prior to finalizing any sales. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

We may accept checks (solely at our discretion) however, all checks must have cleared our bank before the animal is shipped, picked up or delivered. We often also do offer PayPal (contact us for info)
Further regarding methods of payment, we currently accept cash, PayPal payments , and personal checks. Unfortunately, we do not accept personal, cashiers checks, (NO ECHECKS, NO EXCEPTIONS) or money orders as immediate forms of payment because the check clearing process takes up to 10 days. Right of First Refusal Option… (applies to all sale rabbits unless waived by “Seller” in writing)
Because we care about the future health, happiness and promotion of our rabbits "Seller" retains right of first refusal on all sale rabbits AND if, at any time in the life of any rabbit we sell, the Buyer is unable or unwilling to keep the rabbit we shall retain first right of refusal.
If "Seller", so chooses (solely at "Seller" discretion) to waive the Right of First Refusal option, said waiver MUST be in writing with full description of said rabbit(s) and signed by "Seller" (no exceptions)
Health Guarantee
Only rabbits believed to be in excellent health will leave our barn. Buyer has 48 hours to check over their new rabbit(s)... if your new rabbit dies within the 48 hours and a licensed veterinarian immediately verifies that shipping, traveling stress, exposure, disease or improper care is not a factor, we reserve the right and may choose (if available, and at Seller sole discretion) to replace the rabbit with a rabbit of equal value provided a licensed vet verifies in writing that the rabbit has been properly cared for by buyers shipper, agent, handler AND buyer.
We cannot control how the bunny is taken care of once it leaves our premises, therefore we require a written statement from a licensed veterinarian immediately that the bunny did not die due to exposure to a parasite, disease, improper care, heat/cold exposure, stress, etc.; absolutely no exceptions!
We reserve the right to, and may, at seller sole discretion, replace a rabbit for one of equal value should the rabbit you have purchased from us die during the first 48 hours of ownership. Again, we cannot control how the bunny is taken care of once it leaves our barn, therefore that is why we require immediately a written statement from a licensed veterinarian that the bunny did NOT die from exposure to a parasite, disease, improper care, heat &/or cold exposure, stress, etc., which is why we offer a 48 hour guarantee upon finalizing the sale so that you as a purchaser have the opportunity to have your bunny inspected either by you personally or by a licensed veterinarian prior to finalizing the sale and/or thereafter up to the time the buyer or the buyer’s transportation service provider takes responsibility of the rabbit(s) (herein and hereinafter meaning upon final payment which completes a sale) or the animal leaves our Rabbitry, whichever comes first; all costs of said inspection(s) are solely at "buyer' expense... no exceptions!
If a replacement is not available and/or an equally similar litter is "not" due within 16 weeks of the date of purchase, we reserve the right (to be solely at sellers discretion) to refund the purchase price minus any non-refundable hold deposits, shipping cost, boarding fees, etc.
"Seller" guarantees any rabbit we sell to be, to the best of our knowledge, in good health and free from disease, symptoms of disease, or injury up to the time the buyer or the buyer’s transportation service provider takes responsibility (herein and hereinafter meaning upon final payment which completes a sale) or the animal leaves our Rabbitry, whichever comes first. At that time, we revoke any and all guarantees due to the risks that are beyond our control which include, but are not limited to, improper circumstance, handling, and care provided by the new owner/transportation service or other 3rd party). For those interested in verifying current health, buyers bearing the expense may exercise the option for us to obtain a health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian before purchase, pick-up, or transport. Being resolute in our efforts to ensure and protect the health of our rabbits, "Seller" reserves the right to void any and all agreements and refund all monies paid should a rabbit become ill or develop a genetic disqualification prior to a final sale, pick-up, or scheduled transportation. Despite these efforts, should a rabbit become ill or die within 48 hours of the new owner/transport having taken responsibility of said rabbit(s), "Seller" may choose, in its sole and absolute discretion, to offer a future replacement of like kind and value, when available, or to refund monies paid (minus the non refundable hold deposit) for any sale rabbit(s) in need of veterinarian care within the indicated time frame above. In such an event that a sale is final but the rabbit HAS NOT yet left our premises and requires veterinary attention or medical care, etc., all medical costs and expenses shall be borne by buyer. In such an event that a sale is final and the rabbit HAS already left our premises, and for any sale rabbit(s) is in need of veterinarian care, immediate care must be provided by "Buyer" to said rabbit(s) as well as immediate communication with "Seller" along with proof of illness or death of the rabbit(s) from a licensed veterinarian and (if applicable) where return of the rabbit may be necessary any and all medical costs and expenses shall be borne by buyer.
Venue for all parties shall be the City and County of Missoula, State of Montana.
Pricing and Discounts
We as breeders are not responsible for what may happen with 3rd party transports or what the bunny(ies) may be exposed to during that time. That is the unfortunate risk of having someone haul your bunnies for you. Please keep that in mind when you purchase bunnies and be aware that they will need time to adjust to the environment you plan to keep them in. If you are shipping or have potential of exposure with other rabbits or environment that has been exposed to other rabbits, I highly recommend that you quarantine for 2-4 weeks.
Rabbits are priced individually based on their merit and/or our evaluation of quality standards based on the most current ARBA Standard of Perfection. We offer discounts on multiple purchases. There may be a minimum $300 purchase for the multiple purchase discount to apply.
Although great efforts are made to keep our websites current, availability and pricing are subject to change (increase or decrease) without notice unless a deposit has been received for a particular rabbit. Such changes are often based on a rabbit’s growth development and show success. Below is a pricing average that may help you.
Show Rabbits: $100+
This means the rabbit listed for sale fits well within the ARBA breed standards and is free from any known disqualifications at the time the sale is made. Show rabbits are sold with a full three-generation pedigree and their ARBA registration, ARBA Grand Champion Certification, and show legs, if applicable.
Brood Quality: $75+
This means the rabbit may have a disqualification fault that won’t allow it to be shown, or it may lack a quality or presence needed to be competitive on the table, but the rabbit is proven to, or should, produce show quality offspring based on its breeding history, conformation, and bloodlines. Brood stock is sold with a three-generation pedigree.
4H/Pets: $50+ (references are required - limited availability - our sole discretion)
PET ONLY: This means the rabbit is not suitable for show or breeding, but its temper should be suitable for pet/companion purposes. Pet rabbits are not sold with a pedigree.
4H/FFA Discounts: We offer a discount for 4-H members that participate in a rabbit project. Please contact us for more information regarding verifying 4H membership in order to qualify for this discount and we will provide you a 4H Discount Form.
*prices may be subject to change without notice
ALL OF OUR RABBITS SELL WITH PEDIGREES UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED AT TIME OF SALE. All rabbits are sold with transition food and their three generation pedigree and ARBA registration, ARBA Grand Champion Certification, and show legs, if applicable. Occasionally (but very rarely) pets are available, but they are not sold with pedigrees or verbal disclosure of lineage. Additionally, pet home references may be required and all pet sale transactions are at our sole discretion.
We will not guarantee "consideration" to purchase back any rabbit regardless whether it was sold with the Right of First Refusal requirement option, however we will do our best to take one of our sale rabbits back ("WITH IT'S CAGE") and give the animal a home in the event you can no longer keep or want the rabbit... generally we do not have quarantine cages for an unexpected extra bunny and therefore we are forced to require it's cage in order to house and quarantine the bunny. We reserve the right to refuse the return of any animal at any time and especially if the animal has been exposed to or shows sign of illness. (This clause does not override our healthy rabbit guarantee on our bunnies, this clause is for an unwanted animal that you may not be able to keep any longer.)
Please do not just turn an unwanted rabbit loose. Once a rabbit becomes domesticated, they do not always inherit the instinct required to know how to survive on their own!!!
